So it happened ... I finally got an acoustic that plays like a Taylor and sounds like a Martin.. but the damn thing doesn't have any electronics (go figure). So I'm looking at buying a pickup or internal microphone for it. ( I know nothing about acoustic pickups)

What would you run ? Should I suck it up and play in front of a 57' or get an active system? Run with with a cut free passive system, or one of the sound hole pickup setups????

Looking for insight

thanks !

So what was it? I'm looking for a good model to try out. I have a Seagull S6 right now.

I'd stick an AKG C414 in front of it near the 12th fret and call it a day..
You havent modded the guitar and it sounds better than most pup systems out there ;)

The LR Baggs Dual source is the best I've used. Bridge transducer and condenser mic with the ability to blend to your liking.

I'm a big fan of their Anthem-SL model.
Either way, LR Baggs seems to have little affect on tone...which is what we're after on an acoustic.
