I picked up a Martin GPCPA4 a few weeks ago and although it is fairly easy to play, I was wondering if anyone has found any string gauges, coatings, or certain brands that make playing easier yet still retain volume?

It looks like they recommend Martin Light Bronze strings which look like they sit in the middle of the gauges (12). Was wondering if the Custom Light or Extra Light would make that much of a difference? I'm not expecting my acoustic to play like an electric but just want to get a tad more easier.
