Anybody have a guide they have utilized for acoustic treating your typical bedroom studio?

Not shocking, but the acoustics in my office/jam room/ sim racing rig / catch all space are pretty awful. Was just trying to capture a simple iPhone clip of my new amp and the way the iPhone captures (and compresses/limits) audio really highlighted just how awful the reflections are in that space. It’s a pretty typical bedroom, 14x14 with 9 or 10ft ceilings which have to imagine has been pretty well covered somewhere….

Depends how deep you want to get into the rabbit hole. Gearspace will tell you to shut and stop asking them questions until you read Rod Gervais book and you rebuild a non rectangular room inside of a room that isn't touching any other wall in the house. Also make sure there are no holes ANYWHERE, not even an asshole.

All that aside GIK acoustics can help you with reflections depending on how dead you want the room. They'll need the dimensions. They helped me treat my room pretty well. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Nice room!
Many moons ago I went well down the rabbit hole, purpose built room, intentionally non parallel walls etc.

These days I just trying to make what I have better and realize I am in a box of compromises given it’s really my catch all room

Thanks!

I ultimately left the studs alone, the ac system, etc. I added a heavy door and 2 layers of 5/8" drywall. It helps deaden the room enough to not piss my wife and kids off at night.

Most of the treatment in my room are the 17" corner rectangular traps and super heavy 7" bass traps. My room is 12'x12'x9.5' with about 23" at the back for a closet. I'm happy with the results to be honest. It can help tame a lot of the reverb. Won't be perfect for cancelations and some modes but for playing guitar and jamming to tracks it's pretty efficient without destroying your bank account
