They did Justinc Chancellor's bass setup and monster pedal board as well.

The boys are gettin old haha, time to let a few secrets out! I'm not sure how rare the 535q is... But justins was done much better in my opinion! Dunlop tv scored on this one though. I wonder which member of tool will inevitably come out with a tell all first haha! :scared:

I bet the Bass is zero because he is running it with the VH4, I should try this with my Superbass and VH4 since I was having trouble dialing them in while running them at the same time.

liked the Bass techs run through better. Adam's tech was like, yeah, and here is like a bar that you can wave your hand over or something. and here is a pedal.

Love his sound and playing though!

That was pretty cool- I love rig run-through videos. I wish there was more talk about Adam's amps though.

I'm wondering if it's worth running a bass cab with a Marshall JCM800? Would that help produce a deeper, more growly sound?

The bass- it was the flanged bass sound in Forty Six & 2 that I first heard years ago that got me hooked on chorus effects, more than anything in the world.

I was kind of thinking that ..... but I do know a lot of people turn off the bass on amps without a master. The tone controls are pretty interactive and with the midrange way up you still get a fair amount of bass. The treble seems to shape the sound the most of the tone stack on most amps. I was pretty surprised it was pretty much the same as I have used them for years.

I agree .... I can never figure out why they do these videos and never do any decent shots of the gear. I mean they are right there with a video camera, why not get a decent shot of everything ?

That tech was either lying or didn't know what he was talking about. But the Marshall is certainly modified. It's a Superbass modified to 1969 Superlead spec. with a few other minor changes. Also, thanks for the vids! Didn't learn a whole lot but it's nice to see the band opening up and sharing a little after 92383949 years.

I was really surprised to see how beat to shit his guitar is, especially with that carving (sticker?) of ren/stimpy on the back.

The wah is a 535BB. You can tell by the LEDs. It was replaced by the 535q

Stephen I run 0 bass on my JMP a lot of the time. I change it up a lot though.

very cool vids

Great stuff..... guess there is no chance of a gut shot of the Superbass eh?
He barely spoke of it :(

Friedman is the guy who's been in it. He posted what the mods were. I'm too lazy to go find it. But it's on the Metro Amp forum and Tooltabs forum somewhere.

Even that bass player article has that diagram wrong on Justin's bass.

Japanese guitar mags are very good at getting pics of gear and the rundowns. I have no idea why American music journalists just suck at stuff like this. I also hate all the stupid editing and special effects on those Dunlop videos, I think its called a Sepia effect or some such nonsense to make it look "vintage".

I remember that. It wasent much, a few caps if I remember right. Cant say how many times I've heard that amp was stock, but I've heard stock Superbass heads, they dont sound like that ;)
Thanks

*heads in to readjust his settings*

I need a wet nap.
