Any of you amp building guys out there know if adding a simple resonance control to a Mesa 50/50 power amp might be possible? I've checked on other forums, especially Metroamp, and it seems like adding a resonance control is a fairly simple task, (just a pot, a cap, and a resistor :dunno: ) but no one has ever said anything about doing this to a Mesa power amp as far as I can find. I don't normally play at really high volume, so adding a little more "meat" in the power section would be nice.

Looking at the schematic it seems the 50/50 already has a "fixed depth" circuit in the power section. You can probably have it modded to a variable one, and also make it have a more pronounced effect.
You should look into the schematic of the 2:90's feedback network and try to mod the 50/50 in the same way. A very easy task for any tech and even for somebody who is not a proffesional.
You can find both schematics here: http://www.tubefreak.com/fschema.htm

On a Marshall-styled amp, there's a purple negative feedback wire running from the ohm selector (usually 8 ohm tap) to the NFB resistor. What you usually do is put the resonance control in between the purple wire and the ohm selector. But with Mesa, you'd have to check the schematic. It might be somewhat different. If you have presence control, you can follow that as it might connect to one side of the NFB resistor.

Thanks for the info guys. It does have a presence control, so I'm hoping it's pretty straight forward.
