Hey guys,

Anyone familiar with ADK microphones? I'm currently recording my first studio EP. First time I got such an excellent acoustic guitar sound out of my Breedlove despite a very accessible piece of gear.

What do you think? What do you use at home to record your acoustic guitars?

Telefunken Copperhead and AEA R84, usually, but no hard and fast rules. Whatever seems to work for what I'm wanting to do.

I've heard good things about ADK, but I've never used one.

That sounded great, it sounded like your placement was spot on. We run either an AKG414 or a Neuman TLM103, depending on the acoustic. We've tried multiple mics at times with mixed results. Our best results in a mix with what we have available seems to be the 414 taking some time to really find the sweet spot.
Nicely done!

ADK are pretty solid microphones for the price. Can't tell you how much I'd like to try your Telefunken. Do you have audio examples of isolated acoustics?

Thank you. I had to search for that spot since my Breedlove Stage C250 has a very rich, nice but overwhelming low end. It must have taken me 40-50min to find that spot.
I can only dream of affording such microphones. Haha Too much other priorities for expenditures unfortunately. Like a good mixing engineer for that EP.

Do you have isolated audio examples of those microphones? I'd like to hear that! :)
