Hello: I need some ideas on getting my guitar teaching to the masses. I currently teach out of my home studio and have just recently announced that I'm now teaching online via Skype. I stay current with my craigslist ads, have a website (www.scottguitar.com), and advertise on Facebook and Google Ads. Any other ideas on how to reach potential students outside of my local Northern Virginia Area will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You could get a time machine and go back to a time when kids were picking up the instrument by the thousands because it was cool. Even now, with all the youtube teachers and free lessons... why are you going to pay for it?

I taught guitar for 15 years and own a guitar shop. My son dabbles in guitar playing and when he does play or want to learn something he goes immediately to youtube.

I have had this guitar shop here for 23 years and have a monster teacher here. We have trouble keeping 8-10 students on his roster...

I'm just saying that I think guitar teacher is as viable a career as stage coach wheel repair. As a second job for some extra spending money, I think you can make a few bucks.

Sorry.

Unless you're Amish, then you've still got a fighting chance!
