advice on a Bogner OS 2x12 I picked up from GC...

Some advice is needed from you guys, since I don't have a lot of experience with these. Not sure I should keep this one or continue looking for something better. I opened the cab up when I got home, this is what was inside:

It looks like an older version to me, 2009ish, loaded with one English V30 and one Chinese V30. Some wiring was obviously changed out when they replaced one of the speakers (not sure which). Tolex is in decent shape, there are a couple small rough spots though.

What do you guys think? It sounds OK, just not sure if it's worth the $500 I spent at GC, considering it's been molested a little :lol: :LOL:
 
I think 500 is a decent deal on one, have no idea what the outside looks like though. I would not worry about the speakers, mine came with 2 chinese V30s.
 
in my experience, $500 is a pretty solid deal. especially if you flip the English V30 for what those can go for and put something else in that side. :)

V30s have been made in China going back way before 2009, so it's hard to believe that English one is original. my OS 2x12, older than that, has two Chinese V30s (and sounds awesome), but i've heard that Bogner sometimes mixes a V30 and something else, i think the 75-watt one. you could do either and have some coin left over.
 
I think this cab is a keeper, it sounds awesome w my Shiva 20th. Overall much sweeter and smoother sounding than the Mesa Recto 2x12 I was originally using. :thumbsup:
 
I can tell you from experience, GC rarely opens cabs. They are play tested to verify that they work and priced as cheaply as possible for the used market. With that being said, I'd take that cab off your hands for 500 bones.

Yeah, keep it. You wont find a better price on anther.
 
Yeah and the best part is they only charged me $12.50 for shipping!
