FINALLY.... After much anticipation, my Herbert arrived today! I can't wait to tell my buddy it got here safe and sound.

Anyhow, apart from being probably the sturdiest amp (and heaviest--because it's packed full of WIN)--I've ever handled, this thing is a monstrosity! I hooked 'er up to my Mesa cab and now I have a colossal, superlatively painful headache. Just crushing! I'm set for life now, ampwise. Though an Einstein would be nice too. :D

Been playing her with this too, another new toy I got the other day:
NOS PRS CE-22 McCarty Burst (getting some free pickups to go with it too), my 2nd PRS:

Congrats!! As a fellow Herbert owner I know exactly how you're feeling

I'd also humbly suggest you try it out with a Diezel cab, or failing that, a Bogner. I have a Mesa 4x12 myself and while it's a super cab, Herbie gets even MORE unbelievable through one of those. In any event, it's a truly awesome amp so congrats once again!!

Oh, and very cool guitar!

Will do. :D I'm looking to get into either an uberkab or a Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412. :O I don't really dig my Mesa cabs anymore. :/ Too tubby!

Thanks man~!

I went from Mesa cabs to a Mills with my Herbert and haven't looked back. Excellent cabs all around and a huge improvement over the Mesas, IMO. I'd love to grab a Diezel cab, but I just can't justify spending the money at the moment.

Those cabs are great with the Herbert. I had an Uberkab, but I sold it after I got to play through a Mills and compare it side-by-side. I preferred the Mills, though the Uber was a close second. I'd like to try the new Diezel cab at some point.

How would you say they stack up in terms of sound? (Bogner Uberkab vs. Mills Afterburner).

They are very close. Honestly you can go wrong with either. I think what I liked best about the Mills is that it is tighter and just had more thickness and girth to the sound. I never had a problem with the Bogner cab when the volume went up, but the Mills just seems like it will handle it alot better.

It was a tough call to sell the Bogner in favor of buying the Mills since they were close. It was still worth it to me though. If I were buying new, there would be no question about going with the Mills (a) cause I like it better, (b) it is about $200 cheaper and (c) you can customize it to your specs.

Did a quick test vid of it on Ch3 today. Sound isn't as nice as I'd like (I think the camera/mic placement was crap). Just foolin' around.

Hey Taz, Congrats on your Herbert! I recently got Herbert to come to my home as well

Is that a Splawn QuickRod you have there as well?? I was a bit freaked because I have the same set-up, only with a Marshall cab. Anyway, at first glance I was thinking I hadn't posted any pics yet, so, how did this get on the forum already

Let me know how you like the tones of both together. I think it is quite amazing, myself. I just got some switching for 2 heads and I am looking into a case to hold both heads and has a 6 space rack on top. All in one nice package!

Herbert Rulz!!
