I can't afford the LP I've wanted for the past couple years, a 2012 LP Trad a Pro in pelham blue. I've never bonded with LP styled guitars I've owned before, but now I don't own any guitars with humbuckers.

Epiphone make an LP for 400 bucks that for the most part has the looks of the LP Trad Pro I've been drooling over. But, Agile's AL-3000 and up range if guitars look to have better specs and are even cheaper. It would most likely be a plain or figured top and a burst instead of the pelham blue finish, but whatever if it's a better guitar.

So for 400 bucks is Agile going to trump Epiphone? I have no plans to mod the guitar so I want the best I can get for the money stock. I'm particularly curious how the Agile pickups stack up against Epiphone?

Agile makes some decent guitars and some dogs. Best thing about em is Kurt is really good about returns. You get a bad one, send it back and they'll send you another.

I am confused, you say you have never bonded with LP style guitars, yet you still want one? Why not just look for an inexpensive dual humbucker guitar that does fit what you like?

Old Matsumoku LP >>>>> Korean shit
Okay, but that's not what I'm asking about.

I know, I'm saying you can find old LP style guitars for the price of an Epiphone/Agile and they'll be vastly superior. If you want to limit yourself to those 2 brands, I'll say I haven't played an Agile and Epi are meh for the price

LTD Eclipse instead. Agile makes junk and Epiphone is overpriced.

I've not tried either models but I did just pick up an Agile Interceptor Baritone 7 string.

I've heard and read the hate but this one is flawless.

It plays great, fast and smooth, sounds killer and was the best bang for buck I could've had.

IMO IF you can gel with the neck size and fretboard radius, Agile is a very solid guitar for the money.

To the post above mine. I would bet he has never played an Agile.

I've had $1,500 ibanez guitars, still own a 92'S540 and honestly the Agile is just as good and/or better than the S5470 I had.

The ONLY issue I had was being used to a paper thin neck and going to a bigger neck which is not even much of an issue.

I think I have 9 or Agile LPs right now. I really like them all to be honest. But there are lots of duds. As said above... Send it back is you get a shitter.

An ltd has a thinner neck, thinner body (on most) and xj frets. Its a combo I didnt care for.

Timeroo,
Which Agile did you play that was junkn
