Man they really hit it out of the park with the dirt album
 
Its such a good album...and the did it in like 6 days or something..and every solo is a one take. :rock: :rock:

That's awesome, Did they use the dual rectifier on this album?
 
Great album start to finish! AFAIK, Jerry used a Bogner modded Marshall for most of the album. I know he toured with an Uber & Marshall on the Clash of the Titans tour supporting Dirt although I believe he's playing Marsha's these days. Don't think I've ever heard of JC using a Recto.
 
Dirt in a word is therapy. Jerden did a great job at keeping the tension level up, Layne's vocals are a testiment to that.

Such a good album! Was listening to it yesterday all the way through. Just amazing!

Dirt came out in '92, the Uber came out in like 2001? Jerry definitely has used Ubers but not on the dirt tour. Would expect he was using the fish live by then. There's so much misinformation with Cantrell. But what I always heard was that facelift was mostly a bogner modded marshall, dirt a combination of an ac30, 800 and the fish/bogner modded marshall, then tripod sounds like a bunch of things, but likely still the fish, some 5150, some recto. First solo record was mostly 101b, second was mostly shiva. Heard he was using the Uber and Shiva on black gives way to blue, but has been using the Marsha live for awhile now. Impossible to know for sure IMO.

love this album, still in the rotation to this day. Very few albums that I love every song from first to last and Dirt is one of them. I really liked his tone too, I always thought there was some recto in there along with the Bogner grind. Really would like to get a hold of a Bogner modded Marshall some day.
 
my opinion, best concept album ever.

"I Have never felt such...frustration, or lack of self-control" and it all goes downhill from there...
 
I've always read that a Recto was used on Dirt, but I'm not totally sure. It would've had to have been one of the first ones off the line, delivered straight to their studio.

Jerry's said in the past that he's always layering in the studio with no real rules as to what gets used... so it's entirely possible that he's used one at some point in time. The recording of Dirt just seems a little close to the original release date of the Recto for it to have made the album...
