You can really hear the 5150 head have him one the self titled album . Especially on Again . He let that amp shine . Great video thanks for sharing. I’ve yet seen this

I thought his amp tone was really good here. What amps was he using in 1993? Some type of Bogner? Marshall? Mesa Dual Recto? I've seen a couple of vids in this era with Mesa backlines as well....

Was he using a Peavey 5150 as I read Ed gave him some amps along with the EVH guitar. I see it was all Marshall cabinets who knows what speakers, usually 75's and V30's in that era of Marshall cabinets but I guess it could be greenback as well.

Did he ever use the 5150 amp to record?

Great set. Layne was truly a gifted singer who could hear harmonies nobody else could.

I saw AIC around this time when they co-headlined Lollapalooza with Primus. Pretty sure Jerry was using the Fish with a Boogie power amp. I was fairly close to the stage but it was a huge venue with bodies flying everywhere and I have seen AIC several times with that rig and without so I could be mistaken.

As far as using the 5150's to record, I thought that I read that he used it here and there on the tripod album. I want to say Sludge Factory specifically but again, I wouldn't be able to verify any of that.

At 20:25 during Junkhead it sounds like he's using a harmonizer or detune/pitch shift ala Van Hagar.
