Hello Forum Folks, I was just listening to AIC first effort :m4: and was really digging Jerry's tone on that one  . I know there are Jerry fans out there so can someone please tell me what he may have been using on that album  . I think he sounds a little different (tone-wise) from some of the other stuff they did. Also, where does Facelift rank amoungst AIC fans here. Just curious.

I'm not sure what he's using. I think I read somewhere he's using a Halfer/bogner triple giant on Facelift.

Facelift is my favorite album  "We die Young' and "Love hate love" still gives me chills!!! just amazing!!

Bogner modded Marshall on Facelift.

Great tone, for sure.

“I used a Reinhold Bogner–modified Marshall exclusively on Facelift and Dirt,” he says, referring to the Alice in Chains albums.

He doesn't even remember what he used on his own album... :D Dirt was the Bogner modded Marshall, a Mesa Dual Recto, and Rockman.

"A good night, best in a long time, a new friend turned me on to an old favorite"

And, our very own Dave Friedman's Marsha....

Studio there is no telling. The article quoted above will tell what was used in the studio. Jerry live though is where its at.

I like everything AIC recorded. Jerry Cantrell is a brilliant musician.

Bogner modded Marshall on the albums, Bogner Fish through a VHT 2150 live.

Closest I have gotten to that tone (facelift) was a 2203 with a PQ3 in front and a few hours of tweaking. Probably should have written down those settings.

Live for Face lift & Dirt he was using a Bogner Fish preamp, Rocktron Intelliverb, Hush IIB through Tube works Mosvalve 500 power amps and Marshall cabs with Greenbacks..
