aldrich and 900's on the dio holy diver live dvd. his tone is perfect on the dvd imo. discuss

to me it looks like two 900's and some other marshall. there are three stacks.

i'll have to pick up that evil or divine dvd, i didn't know aldrich was on that one.

Weren't those DSL heads owned by Craig Goldy? Doug's tone is just "okay" on that DVD to me. His tone REALLY shines on the Dio "Evil or Divine" DVD, where he uses his own rig. Now there's some tone! :)

All in my opinion, of course.

I'm with you Chris. I think the tone is OK on that DVD but not great. I haven't heard Evil or Divine, but have have heard Doug's tone on the Whitesnake DVD and I think his tone kills the Holy Diver Live DVD where he used Craig Goldy's rig.

They were DSL's but they were rentals.... He just flew over with a pedalboard to do those shows...

screencap from holy diver live. i'm seeing two 900's and a dsl.

what od or boost does aldrich use?

Doug used DSL Marshalls on that night for sure... He even explained it on his website-forum.
Evil Or Divine smokes with better tone!

The "wall of marshalls" on the Dio tour was a stage prop. Doug has commented on this several times.
