The Wolfie pups mount directly to the body with wood screws. I've got the Aldrich pups in (and they sound great) but I think they are to far away from the strings. What is the best option to make them more adjustable height wise?

What I used on my Washburn SS80 to raise the bridge pickup closer to the strings,( body mounted pickups) was cut down wooden dowels, thus ensuring wood to wood contact and allowing you to raise the pickup to the exact height desired

Thanks. Did you place the dowels under the mounting tabs or someplace else?

Under the tabs, you can tap the pickup end of the dowel and screw the pickup mounting screw into it, you can choose to glue or cut the head of another screw and have the threaded end extend from below into the hole in the guitar body. Hope I am explaining this ok, mount the dowel into the existing body screw then tap the other end to mount the pickup, the foam or insulation under the pickup can be extended..

You can certainly lock them down but the guitar will be more prone to howling with high gain
We shock mount the pickups now with rubber grommets under the screw head and put foam under the pickup so you can adjust them. There is a different tone to having them floating

Thanks John. Didn't think about the grommets under the screw head, I'll add those on the next string change. Have foam under them now and they sound much better.
