Anyone remember this unit?

I watched a guitarist last night supporting my band at a gig and he had one of these. He was using a Marshall modded head and the quadraverb in the loop. He had a great tone, the delays sounded pretty awesome from that thing.

I remember when I used one years ago it was kinda grainy and sucked the tone a bit

I have one and will continue to use it until it dies. Great unit.

Me too, they are a bit grainy and somewhat less than pristine, but mine has worked for a ridiculous amount of time. You cant get anything for them now, so I just kept it all these years. I rarely play live anywhere now
Most of my sauce is added after tracking these days, so I can change it if need be after recording. I usually track dry as a bone

I had one in the late 80s. I used it with my ADA MP-1, Carvin FET400, BBE Sonic Maximizer 822e. This was my Vitto Bratta setup. I actually sold mine around 2001. It was a great unit. I even had a Microverb and Miniverb II. Unfortunately, I did not have a loop or do not remember. I just set the signal out of the ADA into the BBE and Alesis to the Carvin. It was great at the time.

I had one. They are OK sounding. Probably better in a parallel loop because the are, as above, a bit grainy and you lose dynamics.

IMHO you can do a lot better for just a bit more money, eg, an older Lexicon or TC.

I've still got mine. Bought it around the same time I got my ADA MP1. Damn, I feel old
Me too....MP-1, Hush IICX, IPS33, Quadraverb into two JMP 2203 power sections.

LOL, Still have mine too. I just always find it still does the job when I dust it off and plug it in. Hate the huge freaking power supply, but for what it is, that unit still brings it.

Sorry to bump an old thread but im in the market for a new effects processor and i was wondering how you guys think the quadraverb compares to say a G major 2 or other modern processors? Seeing as the quadraverbs can be had for next to nothing i was wanting to see if you guys thought it might be worth checking out or if i should just shell out the extra cash and buy a newer unit. Im planning on using it in the fx loop of my mark V which has a series fx loop. planning on using pretty much every effect possible, delays, pitch shift, harmonize, reverb, chorus, tremolo.

For reverb, simple delays, and chorus it is fine. It does not have a harmonizer that I know of. I've never used the pitch shift. The flanger is meh but I don't use it much anyway.

They sound pretty good with a Marshall. I used to use one back in the day with my 2203 heads, and it was certainly better than no reverb at all. Besides, as loud as we played, who could tell if it was grainy?
