They don’t even pay attention until it’s a CAT3, nobody on the gulf does unless your in the 60 mile circle that surrounds the eye.
A direct hit is a big fat nasty tornado, those people will leave and those just around it in case it shifts a bit either way.
The rest will stock up with 3 weeks of supplies, fill all the gas tanks and have weapons on standby for those who need persuading to be a decent human.
Florida gives no quarter to looters, so they have little trouble with them..
