Hats of to this young lady and what a show, only 8 American women have won a Gold Medal in womens singles figure skating competition and Alysa also ended a 24 year drought of Gold in the Sport for team USA
Lui becomes the first American woman and first woman in history to win Gold both the singles and team events for figure skating in the same season and only one of only 2 Americans to have done so in the history of the Olympics.
Alysa also becomes the most decorated American woman to compete in a single Olympic figure skating competition.
Alysa Lui winning Gold in teams and singles figure skating combined with breaking a 24 year drought and the longest drought in such events for singles women figure skating amongst Americans makes her the only American to do so in the sports history and Olympics history....... Before her last run she was behind the rest but that didn't stop her focus and determination to go for a comeback and Alysa ended the longest drought for a Gold Medal in such Olympic competition, made her Mom/Dad and country proud and did it all for herself and Team USA
