Amazing performance by Living Colour

Vernon Reid still sucks. Doesn't matter how old he gets, he never improves. He's still sloppy as fuck.
It just shows how ignorant you are. You wish you could fucking play like Vernon Reid.
Let me know when you write a song that’s still relevant 35 years later.
As far as playing, it’s his style, if you don’t like it that’s your problem.
At least he don’t look like a fucking woman, 80’s fag.

lol how ignorant I am? It's common knowledge Vernon Reid is a garbage guitar player that's extremely sloppy. In fact, go see his current skills fully on display at the Ozzy tribute where he sounded like a 14 year old who had been playing for about 6 months and just discovered the "Insane" setting on a Line6 practice amp.

Also, I am totally fine without being able to play like Mr Reid. I guess if I just tremolo picked every note drenched in more gain than any of my peers, I could say I was as good as him. Also, if more people liked his playing style, they'd probably have more than 1 song and would've had actual careers in the music business.

Oh yeah, and only weak minded people try and make attacks personal, so I think you should go back to the drawing board and come back with something a little better.

Fuck me. I just can not with these guys. This song was a banger but have never heard another I could get all the way through.
I pretty much have only listened to Vivid very much.
From that one, I can dig:
Cult of Personality
Middle Man
Desperate People
Open Letter to a Landlord
Memories Can't Wait
"Which way to America" slams

Broken Hearts is cheezy but the performances make it worth listening. Rad bass solo too.

A few songs are painful to listen to. Back in the day of cassette tapes I had to just sit through Glamour Boys or fast forward.

Love Living Colour so much. The first three records are awesome. Vernon Reid definitely can play and has developed his own style moreso than many other wannabe shredders. Saw them in Paris some years ago they were great !

Vivid alone sold over 2,000,000 copies...pretty good career.

It is funny that people will sling shit at Vernon, where like Carl and Couch say, he's the one with a legitimate music career and signifiant stamp on history. It shows the people who view music like sports as opposed to art.

That’s the new scale judging a guitarist, how well they played at an Ozzy Tribute. LOL
Jake didn’t do very well. He can’t even play his own tune.
Why don’t you do better? Let’s see how much better you are in Vernon Reid.

Vernon suffers from the same malady as Slayer:

By all the standards of angry white boy metal edgelord, Vernon sucks. And this performance wasn't great. His sound was shit, and I don't even think he knew where he was in the song half the time.

But Vernon and this band has done some amazing shit. The first album was a bombshell. Front to back fantastic. On the second record, 'this is the life' is just epic. A true rock and roll expression of struggle and groove.

Vernon's ugly-ass rock playing is a treasure. I love it.
