here's a video clip of him i shot with my iphone:

guy is amazing

yeah it wasn't the highlight of the show but it does give you an idea of what he's capable of
he was playing things like holdsworth and chick corea that night, and actually opened up for allan holdsworth that night

sidetrack:

man i stumbled on this (unrelated) vid and yngwie sounds like his younger days on this one!

great that eddie, yngwie, and schenker are returning to classic form!

and for general 80's nostagia this is a great song period:

this made me happy

and this was so weird--i coulda sworn this was yngwie!

I don't think Klaus gets enough credit. He's obviously a great frontman for a great band, but you rarely hear him have a bad day. He consistently nails it - and has been doing it for, like, 75 years

Sheesh. I find it hard to stomach that kind of wankery.
Different strokes. :)

yeah i probably couldn't stomach an yngwie concert now but as an old school fan seeing him play from back in the alcatrazz days, then sorta fall away over the years, this recent vid seemed to show he has rekindled some of his younger days flames! cleaner and a bit more musical improv-
tone is a bit fuzzy though. his opera yodel tone has a bit of emphysema in it now.

totally agree!
he and dio were just endlessly punching face.

Yo Pat, what about acoustic versions of songs or acoustic players in general? Who's catching your eye these days?

Somewhat OT, but Justin Derrico is playing for The Voice. Man, that guy burns on guitar!!!
