Why does the guitarist on American Idol annoy me so much? I don't like his tone or his playing. His moves and faces are uncomfortable to watch. Lastly, I am put off by his size.

He's not as annoying as C.C. Deville mind you, but he does bother me. Just sayin'.

I'm more annoyed by his Les Paul with a floyd on it. :bleh:

I don't watch much TV. When I do, it's usually some war or science shit. I just take in what everybody else watches at my house. I have seen every episode of Spongebob and can tell you exactly what is going on with General Hospital at any given time.

That being said, once in a while you hear a cool version of a song or see a good guest perform. It is live music so my kids can actually see people really playing and singing compared to watching someone like Britney Spears 'perform'.

Pia was ome nice eye candy and had a good voice, but sadly now she is gone. My interest level has dropped considerably.

And yes, the Les Paul with a Floyd was wrong in the 80's and is still wrong today. Get a strat. You don't put a Ford Bronco chassis underneath a Ferrari just 'cause you want to go off road. Fucks up both vehicles. Right tool for the job ya know.

My wife watches AI...I commented two nights ago how I would love a Floyded Les Paul :D
The old adage "to each their own" is quite appropriate in this case...I'm a big supporter of modifying instruments to maximize performance for the owner.

Pia is gone
:D

the gtr player and the band on a whole has taken a down turn since ricky minor left as music director and paul jackson jr as the guitarist.

there have been a few times that i've heard major errors in the music and the guitar playing in particular this season, last night as pia did her last goodbye the opening chord was a trainwreck!
and not once did i ever hear the band drop one moment in prior years.

100% agree. They took 3 steps backwards letting the original band go without a doubt. My wife and kids watch the show, and I would look up from my book, phone, ipad, whatever when I would hear paul jackson playing just to see what guitar he had...this year its just painful to watch the car crash...(although I have no problem watching Pia and the raspy chick at all!! WOOT!!)

ok I'll say it......I LOVED the way they reworked The Righteous Bros and that Constantine Mouralis is a dude with a hell of a voice.....

But I"m kinda wondering if Iggy is jumping the shark by playing on AI or whether AI is jumping the shark by having Iggy on......?

I can relate! I end up seeing more of AI than I want to, only because my wife watches it and if I want to sit in the living room at that time I am forced to watch it. :( Needless to say my wife and I don't spend much time together on the night that AI is on tv.

He's the anti-Iggy :D

I have been working on that show "The Voice" and I have yet to say hi to the guitarist but I did get a good look at his stage rig, 3 Bogner goldfingers and three Bogner 4x12s and a juicy selection of guitars, sick pedalboard too. He fired it up for soundcheck and I almost dropped my gear to walk over there because it sounded so rad. Lucky dog has an awesome gig..

Have you met a kid named Curtis Grimes? I played on a song on his new record, pretty talented I think.

saw the LP with the Floyd...was kinda disheartening. Like someone ripped my heart outta my throat . That new guy def doesnt have the soul power or tone of Paul Jackson. He was damn good n tasteful too.
