Amp Bias 101

Cool video, except you have to check your bias probe instructions. Some use Ma, but some use Mv. VERY important to set the multi meter correctly or you fry stuff fast!

Very true Andrew, my DSL is MV because it has a shunt resistor.



They're all different kids of bias probes that measure both.

Yup, I'll never forget my first DSL I bought in '98. Hooked up the meter to adjust the bias on the pins, and blew both power tubes in grand fashion! Had the meter set to AMPS instead of Volts!

Never made that mistake again.
