Thinking this will be a better option for me than boom/tripod, etc.
I do want to leave the clamp/grabber on my speaker cab 24/7.

Who uses either...which is better?

Thanks for any help

I have a couple of amp clamps. I dig the concept.. if you are ok with a few tiny holes then it is a no brainer. I think a few small holes is no biggie personally. Now depending on how much of an overhang you have on your cab, maybe you find your mic sits a bit too close or too far I am not sure but you have to play with it. One thing i noticed about the WT-Pro is that it doesn't fit one of my cabs that great but it is meant more just to hold in place, I feel like the standard that is attached to the cab will hold up better over time. Great concept, burn your stand! Especially if you have limited room or have an iso box etc. As for the cab grabber, there are various sizes to consider, cost is higher, and those damn goose necks over time feel to me that they move ever so slightly. I like the fact that there is hardware that stays put on the amp clamp.

I have a couple of cab-grabbers.
OK for live use on small stages, quick set-up etc. They work best with an SM57 or Audix I5 type mic.
Useless for me in the studio vs a small boom stand. I just can't get the mic positioning I want with the mics I want to use.
I like to set the boom up perfectly horizontal, with the stand off to the side of the cab. Then I can telescope the boom in and out to move the mic horizontally across the speaker cone without changing anything else about the mic position.

Never tried the other Amp Clamp.
