99% done with the new headshell for my VTM. Not sure what logo to go with. It looks too empty without one. I also still need some piping to go around the front grill. Maybe white or brown. Gotta head down to Lowes to get some thumb screws for the rear grill to make for easy access. I love this amp. I was going for a country/ Hee Haww look.
I also totally forgot that the reason you put the seems near the edge is so that the corner protectors will cover them up.
Looks like this

Sounds like this

Which logo?

looks nice.
you need one of those logos that are on the 5150's.

What wiseblood said, The block logo would look good on that.

Looks cool, still will pull the wolf in sheep's clothing

Fortin is the man period, that amp kills now.

I guess I wanted it to look the opposite of what it sounds like. It sure was Fugly before (much like most Peavey amps from the 80's)  But damn, it's now at least 15 pounds lighter too. Yeah, Mike turned it into a beast and I love playing it. It's also not very picky with speakers. I have my old Trace Elliot 4x12 with old V30's, a Peavey VTM 4x12 with 2 Marshall V30s and 2 Sheffield 1290s and two Peavey VTM 4x12s with Celestion G12K-85's and it sounds damn good with all of them with only slight tweaks of the knobs. The V30 cab is my favorite though. I would love to play some of his other amps some day. Need some Fortin owners on the west coast.

Dig the cream chicken head's. What about is "fortinized"? Or is that Fortified? ;)

Thanks. I was going to use some round Fender knobs I bought, but they weren't deep enough. Too much of a gap. Plus the package came with 6 and I needed 7 so I stole the chicken heads off my other amp. Love the chicken heads. What about it is Forinized?? I talked to him about what I wanted and he delivered big time. I like VTMs. They are cool amps but this one is now a different amp. Way more gain(and doesn't get muddy), tighter, percussive, grindy and can just be very pissed and aggressive sounding. I can also still get some very nice snappy cleans with my guitar volume.

I'm in Tacoma if you want to check it out some time.

Looks great dude. I like the modern circle logo for that amp. i passed on a VTM 60 a few weeks ago. for $250. I know the sound great, but i didn't really want another 50 watt head. looking for a 120 now though....

The VTM 60 is a loud MOFO. I have one. Easily louder than my 50 watt Splawn. And not just by a little.

Oh yeah no doubt. I'm just wanting more headroom. Volume isn't really the concern. VTM's are beasts in that dept.

Looks nice, Id either put the big Fortin logo on it or a Peavey with the smaller Fortin logo.

Where'd you get the replacement headshell? I need to ditch the headshell on my VTM, super fucking ugly and entirely too heavy.

Paid a dude on CL to make me one locally. $50 for the four sides. 1/4" round over(3/8" might be better), tongue and groove joints, quality plywood. 7 ply. Same stuff he uses to make cabinets. You could also order a 5150/6505 headshell directly from Peavey. Might need a serial number for a 5150 though.

Thanks. Wolf in Sheeps clothing for sure. I'm going to try to get a Peavey emblem from the Classic series amps. It's bigger than the oval one I have and not as big as the other one. It's also painted gold and is made with brown plastic. Should match perfectly.
