My main band went IEM, and it's awesome. I already know that I do not want to go back to singing without them. I just started up a doom band as a side project. We talked about the in ears, but nobody else wants them. It's doom. We're going to play loud. I should not have a hard time hearing anything in the band, except vocals. I started looking at "more me" vocal solutions, and I came across a Behringer Micromon MA400.

I was thinking of using my line out of my amp into the monitor input of the mixer. That way I can dial in lots of vocals, a little guitar, and use the buds as earplugs for the rest of the overbearing volume of a proper doom band. Would this sound decent, or even be worth it? Would I be better off with a cheap cab sim pedal on my board and splitting the signal? Anyone use the line out of their amp for monitors?
