Long story short, borrowed this bass practice amp to brush up on some bass runs as i'm filling in on bass for a friends band for a few shows. The is perfect for home practice, the issue is it intermittently(sp?) cuts out, then comes back. Sometimes it doesn't completely cut out, but the signal decreases by 40-60% for a while, then comes back. Have the amp turned up to 3 or 4 on the dial, not even halfway up. Happens no matter what volume I set it at.

Took the thing out on my bench this morning to crack it open and see if I could find a loose wire or bad connection, but I couldn't even get the thing open. I removed all five screws for the amp chassis, 2 on top, 3 on rear panel, no dice. Tried removing the 6 front panel screws to remove the baffle and see if I could go in that way, no dice.

Does anyone have any experience ripping one of these things apart, and could maybe provide the sequence for opening this little bastard? Any diagrams, troubleshooting suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

I am going to try some contact cleaner in the jacks after work, I have a feeling this isn't going to do the trick...

Finally got the thing apart at 4am this morning. Inside looks good, no loose connections, no bubbling or leaking caps. Cleaned all jacks with a cable end and some tuner cleaner and hopefully that will help a bit. The input jack is way loose when plugging in a cable. I may order a new one later on, but crossing my fingers for now.
