Ampeg SCR-DI for recording bass?

(vs. plugging in directly to my focusrite 18i20 interface, solely using vst plugins within the DAW)

Guitar is one thing but bass? Plugins are more than good enough these days..i say ney. Straight in and then pick the bass tones to your heart's content.
 
kind of a weird question.. do you think this could be used as a decent acoustic DI as well? Or do you think it'd be too voiced toward basses?

I was interested in it for when I record bass on song ideas but come to think of it, I was eyeing the LR Baggs Para acoustic DI (for rare acoustic gigs I have) as well but if i could get 80% of the same sound with this unit then i'd rather just buy 1 unit, ya know?
 
The Eden World Tour DI is hard to beat. Great sounding pedal.
