Hello everyone, i just got an ss-100 and i love the amp, it just has this loud hum and gets really hot, like alot hotter than my jj-100. The standby switches are very hot after a while of playing. Is this normal for this model? It hums alot louder and heats up a lot more than my other friedman amplifier

I would talk to Friedman before using it again. Piece of mind!!!!!

Are the tubes redplating?

Talk to david or take it to a Amp tech and tell him to check the tubes and the Bias!

I purchased an older BE100 two years ago from a private party. It hummed and got very hot on top. Sent it to Dave who replaced the power transformer and sent it back....all "no charge". Now, it's dead quiet and hardly gets warm on the top of head cab.

That's awesome. The lifetime warranty is technically only for the original purchaser but he always seems to take care of you either way.
