i forgot the deliverance 60

actually id love to sit in a room full of the top 10 amps on my list and consolidate the top tones into one amp

You could make anything sound great
thanks kindly!

i had a guitar drought this summer with so much going on but today i cobbled together a rig i have been piecing together for months. the latest toys are a rivera rockcrusher, korg DL8000r rack delay/multi and a rocktron rack interface which i am using to split the line out of the rockcrusher into the korg and my lexicon pcm80 inputs, and then sum the stereo outputs of those devices into the interface's mixer in parallel, then XLR outputs from interface to my wet cabs which have xlr inputs.

Very nice rig  Video sounded very nice, just couldn't hear what you were saying.
Watched some of your other videos you just posted, very nice playing and tone :)

thanks and sorry about not being able to hear what I'm saying!
I was just turning different things off and on so you could hear individual effects one at a time.

I love my peacemaker--just solid tone machine that has a forward projecting sound on stage versus other rigs that sorta blur out. The clips here are iPhone 4 with a foster ar-4i stereo mic system that bypasses the iPhone mic and records in stereo. Way better than typical but not as cool as sitting in front of the rig.

That "solo tone" video you posted on youtube with the new rig sounded sweet indeed. Nice playing as well.
Thanks man--playing the tele with that tone is pretty amazing sitting in front of it.
That g&l tele is hard to understand. Bridge pickup sounds super underwhelming clean, but for dirt it is a monster. Neck sounds mushy clean but dirty it is amazing.

Interesting thread...

I've gone through the ones I wanted to try, and kept the ones I wanted to keep. But a couple that I've never tried and would be on my bucket list?
Carol-Ann
Two Notes
Wizard
Laney
/13
Morgan
3 Monkeys
PWE

The two notes thing really sounds attractive for consistency. I may still try that reload attenuator eventually and to get in the cab emulation game

I have a soft spot in my heart for carol ann---my od2-r was such a great amp! I would love another CA.

Do you still own any of your Mojave's?
yeah buddy! the videos i just posted were using my HG peacemaker

at the end of a big shuffle through a bunch of boutiques and even an axefx i realized that everyone is chasing a fender clean and marshall plexi in some way shape and form so the peacemaker is like going back to the source imo

jtm45/bassman clean heritage and plexi dirt in a box

whatcha rockin these days?
Still rocking my Peacemaker! I love it. Recently got my first Les Paul and I'm wondering why it took me so dang long... :D

So whats up with the "HG?" Guessing Vic modded your PM? Details man, I need details! :inlove:

High Gain mod
he offers it on coyote and sidewinder models but he said he didnt want to do it on any more peacemakers

it's not so much a robogain thing. just added input sensitivity whichs equates to more hair on the tone.

if you want vh type gain plugged straight in without having to dime it check out henning, friedman, and cameron atomica

i get there with a vertex modded plexitone pedal. sounds and feels great and when i kick it off i get pretty darn clean!

Hey mentoneman, "touching landau's dumble" just sounds so wrong!!

I'd love to have a nice 100B and an Axe II or Kemper for fun.

Amen to that! That's why I'm currently happy with my 2203X for rhythms and leads, and my Straub 6L6 blackface type for cleans. Gotta say though... I've been curious about the Peacemaker for YEARS. When Victor first came out with that amp, his clips were the closest I'd ever heard to that early EVH tone. Though I consider myself to be currently GAS-free... I'd still LOVE to have a Peacemaker.

for a long while after buying the peacemaker I got really jaded towards other marshallesque amps--even Marshall couldn't better the peacemaker's Marshall soul!

However I'm happy to report that there are a few choices out there now that bring the vintage heritage in a modern design, captured in the peacemaker, with some higher gain zest:

Steve's cherry bomb sounds fabulous and retains the clear string to string while adding some gainy chomp the peacemaker doesn't do without cranking and when all the stars align

Dave Friedman knows that tone and after playing Mark Day's Friedman with my Tyler strat I can say first hand it's got the mojo

Zachman's Cameron Atomica is another touchdown in the VH camp and probably the highest in gain of these tone monsters. but Mark can somehow seem to preserve clarity and definition even at blistering levels of gain and I have always said Cameron amps for me are the kings of high gain the way I want to hear it.

The honorable mention is the VHT/Fryette deliverance 60. I love that amp for it's bronchial chesty vintage growl and what makes it unique is it's a touch darker than the aforementioned amps which you may like, and it has a crazy ability to roll off the volume and get really bubbling clean whereas all the others don't quite do that.

Hmmm.... interesting. I was visiting a neighboring city yesterday (140 miles away) and took the opportunity to stop at their main music store as I usually do when I'm there. I saw a used Deliverance 60 ($800 I think), as well as a Rivera Knucklehead II. If I'd had more time to dally, I'd have tried both of them out while there. I'll admit that I've never heard a bad thing about the Deliverance. Sounds like she might be a nice "partner" with my 2203X for a sweet-ass stereo rig...
