Hmmm looks like 12 volt dc, starved plate design?

I talked to a guy at Pedalspluseffects warehouse about this pre-amp last summer. He seemed pretty high on it. They have a 45 day return policy - so if you are interested, you may want to give one a spin. I almost bought a used one I saw go for like $300 or so on ebay at the time. I don't like the sound clips though. Seems like a good deal for the money.

I'll bet if you search you & I are the only ones to mention AMT on RT

IMHO, AMT solid state is better, in that their SS Pedals can do everything their Tube preamps do (& and their cheaper !!)

I have only one AMT Pedal - the Cali [or better know as the "Dimitar Nalbantov" sound]

http://www.youtube.com/user/diminalbantov

Dimitar's AMT demos are the reason I own this pedal - its got a nice boogie-ish lead quality to it

with the right setting on my Vox ST the Cali can get down right brutal copping a sweet "recto" vibe.

my 2 cents

My S1 landed today. The tube preamp kind of reminds me of a Hafler T3. The clips sound pretty good to me.

Tell me about the s1 I was listening to all of the clips of the legend series today and was really surprised how they did manage to capture the vibe of each amp.

I believe this is about them modeling the frequency response of the jets to Match the resonant frequencies of each amp, but who knows. Does it sound and feel good in person?

I have only had 5 minutes with it at very low volume. Tonight I am going to push the volume and tweak it for a while. I am hoping to post a video review by Thursday.

So far, I think it sounds and feels pretty good at low volumes. It's punchy and reacts to dynamics well. I am going to try it with a boost later and also through a RM100's tube power section.
