Since RT is on a girl kick. This is who I bought my first SLO from.

Pretty lame, beginner level blues. April Lawton opened the door for females that can play and she did it back in '72.

Her solo at 3:05

Yeah, Im not feelin her playing at all. Im not trying to be funny but the first thing that struck me about her playing is that it lacks balls LOL. Shes not a bad player or singer but it lacks that gutsy attitude that this style of playing needs above all else IMHO

Yep, fer sure.

If a dude was playing her material, no one would ever notice. One look at her album cover (she is nude, covering up with her guitar) told me all I needed to know about her gimmick.

Wow... Page must have been envious of her technique. That's some ridiculous playing all around.

Bob, this recording was from 1990. After recording 2 albums with Ramatam in '72-73 and touring, she sort of moved on to other ventures, although she still played. She was an artist as well. Genius level at whatever she set her mind to.

Even in 1990 or today that's some smoking playing, but I certainly was thinking how ridiculous that would have been 20 years earlier.

Another "Ana"!! This to me is talent extraordinaire... She's been my fave classical player for a few years now:

Beautiful on ALL levels...
Have a good day Gents!

Dude. That was fucking badass! I'll have to find more of that.

I dunno everyone, I didn't think it was that bad! I thought the solo was interesting. Maybe it's just because I dig the Jazzy stuff. I agree she's not on the same planet as the girl playing Guthrie, though. I thought her voice was pretty decent especially since she's from Serbia.

I have to be honest, I didn't watch you video because I saw Ana play live and then went to go find some vids to post here and they all sucked. There were none that matched how good she was live...so I never posted any. I even told Kage this when I spoke to him, but he said the same to me, that he saw the clips and was unimpressed. I saw her at the Iridium and had no idea who she was. My friend works there and sent me a text to come down because I had to hear her play.

I went down there, sat in the back and grabbed a drink I had no idea what to expect. She was really amazing and had a terrific band. Her keyboard player was very good. She played two strats and just went to town. She just had "it." You knew it when you were there. I suppose it doesn't translate in the shitty videos, but even I agree, that I couldn't find one impressive video of her. That said, maybe I saw her on a great night, who knows. However, if you get a chance to see, I would suggest you take it.

She's incredible... Amazing player, and sure - ya - this ain't rock and roll or the blues - but her playing is mind numbingly good.

Glad you noticed
