Boy oh boy, is someone getting a bag of goodies in this installment!

Sold one of my Egnater M4’s, absolutely overflowing with modules. Specifically, the lucky purchaser is getting:
* Randall Brahma (white face with correction mod)
* Egnater dual channel EG3/4
* Sacred Groove MK22
* Sacred Groove XTC Red/Blue (in custom purple colour, with updated Plexi mode)
* Dave Friedman Hairy Brown Eye (with custom Sacred Groove gold “Marshall MKII” faceplate and Marshall knobs)
* GigMods Recto (with all options)

This package has thirteen 12AX7’s and one 12AT7, so I had to make sure it was packed to withstand a cannon shot. Here’s the defense strategy…..

First, some nice pics of the “goodies”…..

To get started, I put some dense foam next to the M4 chassis that was the same distance from the faceplate as the outer edge of the rack ears…..

Then, the whole chassis was wrapped in about 5 layers of bubblewrap…..

Once the M4 felt safe and secure, I refocused my attention on the two loose modules. Each module was wrapped twice in bubblewrap, then in ¼” foam…..

Note: I put a piece of cardboard around the Brahma to help protect the components on the PCB.

Then, it was time to put the two loose modules in a box with some bubblewrap and peanuts for good measure…..

M4_19.jpg

Time to seal up the box…..

M4_20.jpg

And now it was time to pack the “inner” box…..

(Note the liberal use of packing peanuts that follows…..)

…..and get the “inner” box sealed up with packing tape…..

And now, time to move on to packing the “outer” box…..

(Note that the power cord was kept away from the equipment to prevent damage. It was taped to the outside of the "inner" box…..)

And finally, time to seal up the “outer” box and apply the relevant shipping labels…..

You better believe it.

If people just packed things properly to begin with, we wouldn't have all of these posts about UPS and FedEx being the devil.

By this point, we all know how the big courier companies operate and treat packages, so if your gear gets wrecked in transit, take a long hard look in the mirror - it's more likely than not your own fault for not packing it in a manner to withstand that kind of abuse.....
