At which point was he schooling Gales? He was louder, played a less soulful erratic rhythm, and his soloing
IMO wasn't near a tasty or fitting. To each his own

Kind of go with Carl here. Andy is one of my favs but I thought Eric played awesome here (especially around the 6 minute mark. Completely different players but cool nonetheless.

I like Timmons' playing, but, except for whatever wah was being used and the lower volume, I think Eric's playing sounded great, and I prefer the less-effected tone. 8)

 yeah, I just see two guys playing off the cuff. Hey, both these guys held their own w/ Shawn Lane back in the day. That says enough about both of them in my book

Does anyone stop and look at how Gales is playing? His guitar is a righty held upside down and he doesn't even restring it!!!!!! His high E is ontop! I mean, how the HELL does he play like that? Amazing.

I seen that in another video a few months back. Freaking blew my mind for sure. Thought It was trickery of the camera's....but the guy is playing a upside down guitar with EASE.

No schooling goin' on there.
Just Fun, Tastey, Soulful Jamming
from 2 ELITE players in the game
today, feeding off of each other.
That's some gooood stuff, right there!!

I did and that is what made me post that Eric more than held his own. He has always been a great player.

what's mind blowing is the Eric gales band first album. Eric was 16 then and he had the whole Hendrix thing down. I saw them on that tour and he sounded a lot more on fire than he does now, just insane soulful blues rock phrasing, especially when he stepped on the wah.
Hi whole family plays the guitar upside down left handed like that. His brother Manuel, who was known as little Jimmy King actually played in Albert King's band, and became Albert's protege.
Eric went through some tough times, he even did jail time few years ago. But the the first two Eric Gales Band albums were amazing.
