Starts to sound like a "terd in a blender" at the end though!

At which point was he schooling Gales? He was louder, played a less soulful erratic rhythm, and his soloing
IMO wasn't near a tasty or fitting. To each his own

Completely agree. Kept waiting for the bell to ring but it never did. Much prefer Gales' touch and phrasing in the clip.

I live in Memphis. Msaw Eric as a teen. If you ever get the chance to see him play live.DO IT! The guy is crazy good! I learned nothing watching him though. It's hard to follow an upside down right handed guitar being played left handed!

Yeah gotta agree, I watched the whole thing waiting for this supposed schooling and came away wondering how anyone could even use that word in regards to anything in that vid.

I saw 2 phenomenal players jamming , doing their thing and having fun...

LOL I am relaxed, I simply responded. Does that make me too serious?

The thread title doesnt make any sense to me actually. Kage nailed it. Two great players having fun.

Oh and by the way, NOBODY schools Eric Gales. Dude's ridiculous. He's one of those players that always drops my jaw everytime he plays.
You try playing your guitar upside down like that.

The only person I know that was just schooled was..... me.

Does anyone stop and look at how Gales is playing? His guitar is a righty held upside down and he doesn't even restring it!!!!!! His high E is ontop! I mean, how the HELL does he play like that? Amazing.
I seen that in another video a few months back. Freaking blew my mind for sure. Thought It was trickery of the camera's....but the guy is playing a upside down guitar with EASE.

I have a friend that plays bass that way and it is a trip to watch. He has some interesting technique to compensate for the strings being upside down, you can see Eric Gales does too. Imagine playing chords that way...

I enjoyed both Eric & Andy's playing in that video. I'm a huge fan of Eric's playing and I'm happy to see him healthy and in a good place these days. I love his new Live album. :)

No one schooled anyone!!!! Great playing by two great guitarists!!

Gales I much prefered years ago when he had the band w/ his brother. Great tunes, wailing guitar.

Thanks for posting that video! I am a HUGE Andy Timmons fan, but Eric Gales was great here too. I will need to check out more of his stuff.
