Angry Hippie

Was wondering if someone could please explain what the angry hippie mod is. My questions are...
1. Will this mod sound to much like the brown eye? Or is this a totally different sounding mod?
2. Also what type of music is this mod aimed at doing?
3. What options are available with this mod can it be added to the brown eye amp?

Very different. Cant have a loop really. Heavy but very organic. Can't have it with the other mods.
 
Would you say the angry hippie is grungier and heavier than the brown eye?
 
What applications is the hippie best for? Can it do raunchy classic rock zepplin etc. or is it more of a modern rock metal mod? Thanks
 
I had a hippie. Killer amp, but it's not a modern rock/metal voiced amp though. It has as much gain as many modern/rock metal amps and was very aggressive, but the voicing & feel was deeply rooted in vintage Marshall realm (I imagine this is affected by what amp it's put on). To build on what Dave said, it's raw & organic like an old killer Marshall, but with more aggression and a crap ton more gain.

Compared to the brown eye & which is "grungier & heavier" I'm not sure...the hippie I'd say is "grungier" because I equate those tones with with more raw type tones, but it doesn't have a big bassy sound like some grunge tones. I'd go with the be & a boost for the type of "heavy" tones I go for. So it just depends on what you define as "grungy & heavy".....the hippie had more gain (sat on the be will get it close though), but the be is tighter & has punchier more modern low end. The hippie was rawer, more organic, & more open. The be was more compressed & refined.
 
Old thread but .....

since Dave is involved in the development of the Cameron Atomica amp, how does the Atomica compare/contrast with the Angry Hippie or Naked?
 
Totally different then all of them. Very high gain and viscous sounding.
