Saturday morning Marketplace find. This one is an Avatar Contemporary loaded with a T75. I use these in combination with a 4x12 where they act sorta like a monitor. Offers a really cool & dynamic sound when playing decently loud.

Next to my mini Jet City 1x12

It's the same depth as a standard 412.

Solid build and wiring. Parallel 16ohm jacks and a 2005 G12T75.

Great cab. Have the same one loaded with an ET65.
I cant compliment the build quality of avatars enough. Plus he keeps prices well within reach of everyone
Also have 2 Siesmic 1 12s. Excellent as well

Nice! I use 1x12's for "monitors" too, except it's an actual monitor with the tweeter and cross-over network disconnected so that everything goes to the woofer. EV FM1202, with the EVM 12S Pro-Line stock woofer. That plus two cabs spaced out across the stage behind me provides a very immersive experience that I can't get without the 1x12 "monitor." Do you actually stick yours on the floor in "monitor" position like I do, or is somewhere else? I think I've seen you specify it as being different in another post.

I always run a V30 1x12 cab alongside my greenback quads. I have a long speaker cable and I move the 1x12 around the room to find the sweet spot.

I'm always experimenting so I move them around a lot. They can either sound beamy, buried or bitchin relative to where you yourself are positioned.

Usually I have it due north/south of the 412 it's paired with and with about 10ft between them. Then I stand about 4ft away from the 412 and about 6ft away from the 112. Sometimes I like to get real close to the 412 and let the 1x12 shoot a beam of sound at me from further away.

I will also put it on top of the 412 I'm using if I REALLY want to hear myself like if I'm writing or learning a riff or for when I play quieter at night. That way I get rumble & growl from the 412 and crunch & sizzle from the 112.

Both cabs are getting half the power so with a 50w amp the 112 is getting 25w and the 412 is as well. As a result the 412s highs and high mids are smoothed out and the while lows and low mids are really represented making the 412 sound fatter and darker, while the 112 is just screaming and really pushes the speaker's mids and highs while having a quick, tight, low end.

This is it on top of, and paired with my oversized H&K Coreblade cab with V30s & T75's.
It's such a little monster. Like the fat kid of 1x12's...

Avatar isn't thaaaat prevalent here in Canuckland. Guys were ordering them with cross border shipping back in their heyday in the early and mid 2000s but they rarely come up on the used market here.

I'm at least the 3rd owner as the seller wasn't the original owner. So I put this cab as about 20 years old and after dating the speaker it sorta confirmed that.

I may put a stray Vintage 30 in it for some more efficiency and projection because although the T75 sounds nice and crunchy and warm, it's a little too inefficient when on the floor paired with a 412.

I need to replace the back panel screws too because they are not original and are a bit too narrow and short. They are also Robertson heads which I like, but are not something I think Avatar would use being American made. Lol
