Tried it with a little more volume, but not much because it was overloading my camera mic. I used Channel 3 vintage mode. Listen with headphones or decent speakers if ya got em to hear the chunk and low end. Still doesn't do the amp justice though.

Watch the whole thing for a sexy babe at the end! :inlove:

I always hated rectifiers but that one sounds sweet, I can tell its alot tighter than a normal rec . Makes me want one . need a vid with more lead clips .

Thanks man, glad you like it. I did a really low volume vid the other day with some leads and more variety. Check that one out. I'll post more soon.

I'm surprised that's the Vintage mode. If that's vintage, what is the modern mode like after the mod?

I don't ever use the vintage mode on my stock Single Rec.

Dave did the mod with the intention that the Vintage mode be used only. The modern mode sounds about the same as before...like shit! But I have always hated the modern mode. It's overly bright and harsh and just sounds like razor blades digging into my eardrums! You can make the vintage mode sound very aggressive and heavy for metal styles.

FWIW, Jerry from FJA does a cool sounding mod to all the modes on the rectifier series. I had Dave do mine because I was looking for a certain sound and "feel" that his mods provide.

Ah, I see. I prefer the Vintage mode on Dual Rectifiers, but not on my Single. I dislike the vintage mode on my Single quite a bit. Although the volume drop males it easier to balance the level with the clean channel.

I remember Dave saying that he doesn't mess with Mesa amps. I'm curious how he got into doing this Recto.

I asked him about a year ago and he said he doesn't touch em. Asked him again recently and he said he'd give it a shot. Mine is the first 3 channel he's done.

How long was the turnaround time to have your amp modded?

Took about two months. I believe I read that Dave is now quoting about 3 months wait time for mods. He's a busy man! (and for good reason  )

Two months for you, four months for me (so far). That averages out to a 3 month wait time I suppose.

Bummer man. :( However Dave did sorta squeeze mine in because it was a very quick job. Couple hours of work only. I know his kitchen sink for instance is a lot more involved. Hope you get your amp soon!
