Another New 5150 III 50w Owner! (Clip/Pics)

I got to REALLY test drive this amp before I bought it, even brought with me one of my own guitars and pedals because I had been reading comments about certain pickup types, speakers, etc, sounding better with them vs other gear. Anyway, I dug it. Plus I wanted an amp that was not so much in the vintage realm (or modded Marshall for that matter) but more or less something entirely its own. I was thinking Soldano HR50+ but could never sample one. I was also thinking Mesa Royal Atlantic but c'mon, 2k, heh...prolly worth it but I'll wait until the used ones start to surface. :lol: :LOL:

How does it compare to the cHupacabra?

I was looking at both ended up with the EVH...
 
Thanks all! Wish I had more time to experiment with what it can do (at home) but I really only had enough this weekend just to get a little familiar and dial in a solid tone to make a quick/short test. Hopefully this week I'll be able to get more familiar with it. So far, so VERY good, lol!!!!

FWIW, that's straight into the amp with a Custom Shop Charvel (Custom 5 bridge) and mic'ing a Heritage Greenback (in a 4x12).

edit @ sparkle....I'm at work and up against it....I can get to that comparison later. I may do a little doubled riff thing with the 5150 III 50 on one side and the Chewpa on the other.
 
lol.....I ordered mine last night!!! I think we'll all have to start some kind of club or something. Who wants to print up the t-shirts? ;)

I want one of these sooooo bad but have to wait until a guitar of mine sell's cuz my gear fund is super tapped out!!

:doh: I will blame my overlooking you're shop as a noobie mistake since I'm kinda new here. I will DEFINITELY keep you in mind for my next purchase. My GAS is never-ending.......... :D

Sweetwater. Great service. I did the Payment Plan. I heard you can find them for $850 some places. However, I didn't find any such deals so I paid the standard $999.

Sorry about that, man! :doh:I nabbed mine from a long time local friend (20+ years) who always gives me a heads up on new gear, not to mention 99% of the time a nice little slice off retail. Funny thing though, he wouldn't budge on this item! Not a dime, said he couldn't. So I told him I was gonna try then at Musicians Friend (late last week, when it was in still stock - looks like it's no longer) because they had a 12% off any item deal. When I went to check out, of course a message popped up stating "not ON THIS PARTICULAR item", lol (or something to that effect). So FWIW I paid normal current street price ($999). I'm cheap. It KILLS me to pay retail for gear...but on the way home from the shop I kept reminding myself: *that amp in the trunk sounds bitchin, it was worth it THIS time.* :)

I was going to bump your "the 5150 III 50 is the real deal" thread with my happy amp purchase info, but then I thought that would be kinda lame, not to mention "what if my clip sucks balls? I wouldn't exactly be helping."

Anyway, thanks again for the listens and comments. Raining like hell here this afternoon, couldn't get my run in....so, I tried another clip. Full mix this time. Same settings on the 5150 III (left channel, Chewpa on the right). And just for a goof I grabbed a different guitar and gave channel 3 a shot at a little lead dropped over. Not sure I like that. I can see simply using channel 2 instead with a boost. Then again it could just be the guitar/pickup choice and not so much the thick, thick, thick red channel.
