Hey,

Just found this link on the boogie board.

If you look closely behind Lars left shoulder, there's a Mesa amp I've never seen before.
At 00:41 you can see that something is written above the input jack, could it be "JH"?

What do you guys think??

Hmm..looks interesting. It would make sense that Mesa would do it if JH wanted one, the Petrucci amp is a 100/60 2C repro, maybe this will be a simulclass version?

If they did a Hetfield Sig amp it would be huge, no matter what it sounded like. And yeah, I don't recognize that behind Lars, whatever it is.

You can see it better in the Trujillo video

If it has Hetfields name on it, it will sell huge. Another take on the 2c can't be a bad thing. Hope it gets released

Didn't he slave the preamp section into a 800 for Masters? Might make more sense to have 6550's haha.

I think he did that live, but not for the recorded tones..but I'm not as schooled as others on this subject. :D

Reading Fleming's notes, and playing IIC+s, and slaving them, for my own purposes I'm pretty convinced he only slaved into the Marshall for the single song Master of Puppets, not the whole album. Listening to the album, the tone of the song MoP is different than the others. Those old JCM800s did not have effects loops, so not sure how they slaved it in anyway, unless the Marshall was modded, and if that was modded, who knows what else was modded. Also, if they did slave into a Marshall, it was in Europe anyway, so no 6550s - just EL34s. Finally, if they took the slave out from the Boogie, it captured the Boogie's power section (probably 6L6s) as well as the preamp section before going into the Marshall's EL34s.

Simul-class IIC+ with a recto-ish R2 channel? More high end sizzle 'n such. That's been my dream Mesa amp! Lone Star clean, Recto high gain channel, IIC+ high gain channel with the EQ.

Rumor has it......JC120 Clean, Recto and IIC++ channels with GEQ and all the new bells and whistles (MIDI, CabClone).

That would be a dream amp. Even better would be mark iv clean but it's his sig model not mine.

Wonder how they're gonna pull that off, seeing as how the JC120 is all solid state. Sounds like an amazing combo of things though.

it will take 3 separate preamps to do it. this is where the previous versions failed. they all just stacked on the same preamp. the TC-50 has 3 separate preamps in it as advertised. so, we will have to wait and see if they can pull it off.

Wow!

On the flip side, James has never endorsed an amp and could have had anything he wanted. Maybe closer to retirement we will see one.

I can only dream they bake his MOP / AJFA / BA tone into it, not the sounds that came with maturity.

That'd be a Mesa I'd consider buying, even though they are super expensive in Europe.

That would be unreal if they pulled it off. But the Recto and Mark power sections are so different, I'm not too optimistic even if they have separate preamps in there.
