Well, at first I thought it was cool that I had one of the first 10 of these that were built but now Im beginning to trip on this amp a little bit. I wont go into everything but in addition to the problem I had with V3 where I had to replace the resistor next to it to get sound again on the distortion channels, My clean channel went down the same way, and I fixed it the same way. I have replaced all of the original preamp tubes and swap them around occasionally but I never had any problem with these tubes in my Marshalls before. It's a little confusing, and now Im getting a pop when I switch to the rythm channel from the clean, I might check my soldering on one of the resistors I put in last night but I got this amp so I wouldnt have to fuss around so much, so that's the biggest bummer. Im beginning to think a deliverance or a JVM would have been a better choice.

So now it looks like the only problem is the pop when I switch manually from clean to rythm. I got it biased really nice and the Tesla e83cc's in v1 and v6 are sounding awesome. I'll have to email vht about the pop.

My UL started doing that at one time. It was a bad preamp tube.

The first batch of Sig's seem to have a channelswitching IC that is not up to it's task. Also there are a few resistors that need to be changed.
Contact VHT for the details.

Giga.

Thanks guys, will do. Playing it last night, it really sounded very good, it's very finicky about the preamp tube combonation.

So I talked to the VHT support and they told me to try swapping out a couple of the preamp tubes to see if this gets rid of the pop. The amp is sounding good though since I rebiased so I swapped the clean "v5" tube out and the pop was still there when switching from clean to rythm but I just kept playing because it sounds great. I will report back if I get it fixed by swapping tubes.

I have the same pop going from clean to rhythm. I'm too lazy to do anything about it though
