Over the years I have watched many of Ants vids. Typically with an old beat up Strat into a Marshall Ant pays homage to great Strat players like Yngwie, Blackmore, Uli John Roth and Beck. Ant plays with such speed and accuracy he himself has become one of the great Strat players in my book. He captures the classic Strat into a Marshall tone very well. Whenever I need some inspiration to practice I listen to some of Ants clips. This guy can play!!

I miss Ant, one of the true musicians this site had. Stock old marshalls and simple strats he ruled the roost without any ego or attitude.

Ant is the man.

Well, I like him! We confer on Facebook every so often on gear, tone, etc

Is that a PRS in your avatar? If it is I played one like that but in a blue finish, the neck on it was great.

No, it's a Knaggs. One of the Knaggs guys is a former PRS Private Stock builder. Only 2 were made that look like that and both went to Germany. #3 will be mine

+1 Ant is one bad mutha!!

Totally agree. He recorded one of the best leads on the James Lugo Rig Talk compilation.

wow thats pretty flattering. :) Although those tunes/demos are pretty ancient and dated though on that site. I've been really hard at work on a new disc with all new different material which I hope to get out by Jan. One of the reasons I haven't really been around boards, in addition to just having other priorities.

thanks men, and cheers!
Ant

That is some great playing and I really like the mellower stuff!!!

Yes, Ant rules. I miss him around here. He was one of the guys who lent this forum credibility.

One of my favorite players from the forum, nice guy too. I remember listening to his version of Blue from Malmsteen and by the time it was done I forgot it wasn't Yngwie playing it. He is a big Blackmore fan too I believe.
