I'm new to posting on these forums. Just curious if anyone has any experience with LTD Vipers. Looking to add a guitar for drop B tuning, hoping to find something in the $500 range(used). Like the look and they feel like a pretty solid chunk of mahogany. Any other suggestions? Hard rock rhythm guitar-not much soloing.

PM sent, dude.

Got a couple, dig em a lot for cheaper guitars. Solid, no nonsense workhorses. Locking tuners, ebony and rosewood boards, locking bridges, EMGs...you really get a lot for your money with them. $500 used is a decent price considering what you get, $400 is better, and if you see one in great shape for $350 snag it quick.

Thanks! Got your pm, but I haven't posted enough to be able to send one back. Definitely interested, pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

Had a Viper 10+ yrs ago and loved it. I wouldn't recommend it for that tuning though, as it's 24 3/4" scale. Works for some people but I hate low tunings on short scale. There is a baritone Viper model.

I have the Grynch, which is just a hot rodded Hetfield version of a baritone Viper and I love it.

Had a few baritone vipers and still wish I had one. Sweet guitars.

I have a Viper 400 and it's a very solid guitar. Love it.

Kirk Windstein of Down and Crowbar has used them for many years now, and he tunes down to B, and sometimes drop-A with crowbar.
