The Pedal Train products are excellent, but I haven't seen the racks round much. I need an 8-space rack with casters to house an Axe FX and some other gizmos, and their shock mount rack looks great, especially with the flush doors instead of the bulky ones that other companies use. They also sell caster plates that can be attached to the rack.

How well are these constructed? The price seems a tad higher than competitors. Also, is being shockmounted that huge of a difference? I see many people using regular racks for even more expensive equipment, and I'm wondering if it's worth handling the extra weight for more protection.

Also... anybody ever cut a hole in a rack. Does that risk cracking anything? I would like to mount a small power inlet on the rack for wiring the power conditioner to, that way I wouldn't have to really pop open the back for any reason, and could pop in a power cord to the inlet. I am building a patch bay for all my input/output on the front.

Open to better case suggestions too! But the flush lids are a HUGE turn on for me personally... haven't seen another company do that.

Kind of all over the place here.. but whatever.

I found these yesterday looking for an alternative to a Mesa SUS4. I was wondering the same thing but would rather have a 12 or 14 space Mesa SUS4……Anyone??? Hint hint :D

I have the hard case for my pedalboard. If it's built like that thing is, it's legit.

Also, shockmounted racks do add some protection for your gear, especially if you have tubes in your rack. It just helps protect your stuff from being bumped around during transport. Usually worth a little extra.

I will let you know  sent a few offers and won it. Usually…and I was expecting… they send a counter offer :gethim: If you are interested I think "make an offer" automatically accepts at 10% off listed. I saved 9%

I bought the 8 space. $245
If they are really nice I might get a 4 space for my Mesa Mk III and a 6 space just to have for rack drawers

Would like to hear you're thought on it once you get it. Looks like a Kriz Kraft rack but way cheaper. They're a little too deep for what I want, I think, but look nice.

I wish the 8 space had casters. How difficult would it be to add them??

The caster plate is an addon and costs like 70 bucks online. I plan to grab that if I go through with the 8-space. I'm not sure about attaching it though, but I assume it's simple.

The Mesa rack has them screwed to the bottom. I thought about making the one they sell, looks easy and simple. Carvin has a set of 4 casters and plates quick release for $29+ $12 shipping or $9.99 + $12 shipping for just the plates.

looks like ol' brad has some of these racks at king guitar he posted in the classifieds if anybody else is looking...

Hey I got these and the caster plate will go right on any of the racks. I will match any legit price on these as well, hit me up.

Got it in today. 70 lbs but built like a tank. Nice and deep so plenty of room for wiring and any items that might need to sit in the bottom. Back rails are nice and the build quality is tops. Has 1 1/2 inch rubber feet and the corners are designed to be locking for stacking. I like the front/rear panels and how they attach.

Compared to my Mesa SUS-4 8 space I am torn. I like the size of the SUS-4 better but the panels do not fasten as nice as the PSG and the stacking feature is better.

The PSG should hold up for years of road touring and abuse. So I give it a :2thumbsup:

I wish I held off for a 16 space, which I am getting any way :D

Here are some pics. I made a wheel base for it. My Mesa went to the TV and racked my equipment. I added a 2 space drawer on the bottom. The next one will be for my Mesa,Space Box, Axe II, L6 Pro Hd and L6 wireless :D Probably an 18 space.

that looks great? but damn 70 lbs that's a real beast. the caster plate is about 20 lbs so 90 lbs before i even fill it up... don't know if i can handle that.

It won't tip

I think I will keep it just for amps and put the rest of my gear in an 18 space PSG. I can imagine the weight of the 18 space :scared:
