First things first; I am allergic to midi and have outright refused to learn it for years and get frustrated merely looking into it. I find it exceedingly unintuitive, so you may need to be more basic than you think
I am trying to setup an Axess CFX4 (simple four latching relays) to be controlled by a fcb1010….i want to be able to tell the cfx4 to have any combination of the relays latched or not by a single footswitch selection on the fcb. Reading the Axess manual I can trigger the relays either through program changes (program 1-16 each corresponding to a set of relays being on/off) or control changes (each relay assigned a particular cc#).
My fcb is stock, so no uno or other eprom for me to work with at the moment. If I am understanding correctly, I can only set a preset to send a max of two cc commands per preset so I would not actually be able to program the fcb to trigger three relays on/off at a time as each relay has its own CC. Am I correct in this thinking?
I think, given above, I have to go down the Program Change route, but also have yet to find a clear explanation of how to do this with the fcb just yet…so, if I am over complicating that let me know!
