So I have this strat listed here and other places. Of course the usual CL bunch of smart asses is telling me what my guitar is worth and offering their wisdom. I would take peoples word here over some CL DB. Please help. What is this guitar? Here is some information I have found and some better pics :

2. http://www.eddievegas.com/store/details ... Yellow.php (mine exactly - no roller nut/no locking tuners)

3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-FENDER-STR ... 565d79e462

Thank you all in advance....

I'm not sure. 80's model for sure.

It almost looks like an Elite model without the mini push buttons.
Doesn't have the nice nut.
Maybe someone just put the sensors in their Am Strat and the strange knobs.

The guys at that Strat-talk should know.

Based on the serial it's an 88'/89' American Standard Deluxe with Plus features (lace sensors and TBX). I just created an account over there I will see what they say. Thanks.

I think you're right on. I have an '88 Strat Plus. Looks the same but I have the big Wilkinson nut and Sperzel tuners. Same bridge as your's. Never seen one with those knobs though. I think someone may have swapped them from an earlier Elite.

People used to shy away from these years due to the swimming pool routes, two point trems, lace sensors, etc. Mine sounds great and have played it for years. I think people now are realizing they are actually pretty good strats. I've seen Strat Pluses for sale between $650 and $1500. Not sure what any of them actually sold for though.

Grafitti Yellow was a cool and sought after color. I doubt you'll have any problem selling it.

BTW - that is an '88. E for eighties and the next number is the year (8). So '88. Same as mine. :D

I believe that is a Graffiti Yellow Strat Plus. I've never seen knobs like that though. It could be one of those rare unofficial Jeff Beck models.

Strat Plus would have the Wilkinson nut and Sperzels. This one doesn't so I believe it to be an American Standard. Not sure what 'color' the Lace Sensors are in there. Mine were all gold ones. One other difference I noticed is that the neck plate does not say 'Corona, CA' on it. Mine does. If this guitar was all stock it may have been a transition guitar as they were moving production to Corona around this time. Might have used what they had at the time. Lord knows they have done stranger shit.

As for the unofficial Jeff Beck models - I have one of 4 that was sent to Jeff. :D Mine's surf green and you can see him with the same guitar on the cover of Guitar World (I believe) with Jon Bon Jovi. That was around the time he did the solo on that cowboy song of his.

Looks like an American Standard Deluxe to me. Those knobs were not stock - they are from an Elite Strat (or aftermarket), as has already been mentioned.

It's a pretty unique guitar. Are you sure you want to sell it? Not many of them were made and it could be worth something down the line.

You guys are the best. I pretty much thought it was pretty rare but unfortunately for me I loathe rosewood fret boards on my strats. So I am either going to buy another neck and switch it out (keeping original of course) and jam it that way. I think the original knobs are in the case. Thanks everyone.

I have a 91 Strat Plus Deluxe. Color is crimson burst. Lace sensor w/red, blue, and silver. Wilkinson roller nut and Schaller locking tuners.

Your Strat looks it's either custom or it has mixed and matched hardware, maybe.
The bridge/saddle looks like Strat Plus, but it doesn't have the roller nut or locking tuners, at least from what I can see.
Looks like "grafitti yellow".

Check out this site.

This guy has some of the best information on Strat Plus guitars and picts.
There is a yellow one that looks a lot like yours.

This may describe your Strat: From that site.
"Fender introduced an Deluxe American Standard Strat in 1989 and discontinued them in 1990—so they had a short production life of about one year. Take a look at the guitar below and check out the appointments"
