I currently have a RevF Racto that runs at 120v and I‘m using it with a step down transformer. No problems with it.
Maybe for giging not that convenient and a bit dangerous if someone plugs it in 230v. I attached a label on the powercord stating „120 Volt!“

There’s been talk about Eu amps, running at 230 here in the states sounding better. I’ll have to try that with one of my Marshalls.
I do know that last F, at 230 was a better sounding F than my previous Triple F. But that might be amp to amp differences too

Did you measure Plate Voltage or how many volts the stap up transformer really puts out?
My TAD step down transformer usually puts out between 120 to 122 Volts depending on the daytime (as Voltage varies). I guess thats slightly higher than what comes out of the wall in the US?

My wall voltage is around 117. I did not measure the step trans in 230 mode.
I do run my 72 Marshall lower with a variac; around 108v. I believe the reason for most vintage Marshalls with replaced PTs is due to them running @120 here when the tap is for 110.
Screw the recto, get an old Mark IV instead. No fizziness in the highs whatsoever, and a tight, aggressive thick AF tone. Or maybe get a Mark V and live on the extreme setting.

I think ideally everyone here should have both a good mark & recto in their arsenal. I’m an equally big fan of both. None of the marks get the throaty growl the recto’s get on the Orange ch (I could do without the red ch though)
I had my Rev F and MW Triple Rec side by side - I thought I'd need to set the MW to Vintage to have the same level of aggression as the Rev F, but to my surprise I had to put the MW in Modern mode. The Rev F is a monster but the Multi-Watt can be dialed in very close. Save yourself $1500 - $2000 and get a Triple Rec MW.
