Anyone interested? Just getting an idea of whether or not there's enough interest to bring these back. Same tone just redesigned appearance by the original builder.

There's not much info available right now. Maint throwing ideas back and forth but they will be made. If you're on Facebook checkout https://www.facebook.com/EMBaudio

Cool. I'd like to check out a manual or pics just to see the ins and outs. I have a Dunlop, but would to check out something different.

There's no manual. Essentially these were all made by hand by one person back in the 80s and early 90s. Hammett, Slash, Vai, and others used them in their live rigs. The sound is not like your typical traditional wah, it's very thick with an extended sweep range.

Midi is definitely an idea that is being talked about =)

You might want to seek out a bloke by the name of Monty-Jay.... ;)

Those wahs are legendary and nearly impossible to find. I looked for one for years only to come close once or twice before I quit looking.

I'd be interested for sure if they started making them again depending on the price point

Legendary indeed, for those that like the tone. They haven't been available for nearly 17 years.

Could someone fill me in on the idea of it being remote?

I am not dismissing it at all, I just don't really understand why.

I would need to use an expression pedal that goes to a 1U rack mount? Is this correct?

Speaking from a non-stadium-rocking-guitarist (and no roadies) point of view, I would not be interested if this was the case.

Although, if it was reasonably priced, I would be interested in having it for my studio.

From my point of view that is.

Well first, there will most likely be a standalone version available too, not just a rack unit. This wah is nothing like a dunlop/vox style :)

The basic idea of a rackmounted wah is that you eliminate the need and potential tone loss of running long lengths of cable from/to your rack. The entire audio path stays in the rack. Also, having it in a rack format allows for more options and features than most wahs would normally allow, not to mention additional power.

Ok, so it would mean I could really fine tune the wah? I.e. Determine it's range, Q, etc. Maybe have different presets controllable via MIDI?

I can see how that would be cool for a rack set up.

Maybe I need to go and get a rack set up now... :D

Potentially, yes. But with only a handful of companies to attempt a rackwah, none have really come through with options like those.

The normal EMB wah has a Low, High, and Depth controls

I see.

Well, good luck to whoever is going to resurrect it. I am sure it will be an awesome product.

The Prostage one supposedly does it, but there isn't much out there about it: http://www.prostage.eu/en/products/adaptors/wah.html
I've been thinking about ordering one lately. Will keep my eyes out for this one too.
