 I still have their debut self-titled album on vinyl. I remember wearing it out back in the day.

Halford

What's up Kage! Yep, I'm a fan. I have their 2nd CD. Need to get my hands on their 1st.

Hear me calling
Drawn to the rhyme of the Piper's tune

Liked the band and the riffs...just never cared for Olivari's (spelling?) voice all that much. Carey was cool as hell.

They played in L.A. at Paladino's in October, I went right before I moved here to Ohio.

Great show. All original members except for the guitarist Geoff. I guess Leatherwolf was at a festival in Europe and Geoff came out drunk just shit faced and fucked up the show. They band gave him the boot I was told.

When I saw them they did the triple axe attack. They were all each using a rack with:
POD PRO
Line 6 floor board
singer-Custom pointy head stock Charvel
Carey-custom made maple board super strat & Jackson Soloist
other guitar player- Jackson King V

I talked to Carey after he showed me that super strat.
I asked him what they were using on those early albums and he said:
First album- Marshall
2nd album- Mesa Mark II

There latest album "World Asylum" is really good and is heavier than the other albums IMO.
It easily hangs up there with their old stuff. I guess it was written by Geoff and the drummer.
The drummer is sick in that band as well.

Cool band..

I saw them at a Huntington Beach battle of the bands back in '82 or '83..or was it '84.

Anyways I just went down to the beach to chill and this B.O.B. was happening.

Leatherwolf blew me away. Their 2 hand tapping stuff was way ahead of it's time IMO......

They lost to some trench coat wearing band though.....

they're playing that Rocklahoma festival this summer, on the same day as Overkill, Saxon, Anthrax, Metal Church and another band yet to be announced (I think it could possibly be Exodus). that is one awesome lineup, very different for this festival, since the other few days of the festival is mostly hard rock and hair bands.
when i just looked at the lineup for the entire festival again, I saw Warrior, turns out its the Warrior from California (they sound good), I almost shit myself thinking it was the old NWOBHM band.

Cool to see some love!! At first the singers voice grated on me but then it grew on me. Im digging the new stuff as well...

Share a Dream and Cry Out were on steady rotation in my stereo back then. Awesome stuff.

I loved those guys in HS, one of my favorites. The two major releases they had on Island are outstanding cover to cover. Their tone was so thick, and the riffs and leads were great. I always liked the singers voice, a little nasally at times. When they switched to Wade, you noticed how well Mike's vocals fit the band. Not that Wade's Halford imitation is bad, it just didn't fit Leatherwolf.

Good call!, I was rockin' out to Leatherwolf on my ipod at work last week.

Cry Out
Hideway
Gypsy's and Thieves

Michael Oliveri's from here in the OC (Fountain Valley I think...)
the guitarists (Carey) used BC Rich Warlocks for the longest time...
Kewl band!!

Never got into them, but I did play "Keg Soccer" in a backyard at a party, with Geoff. He was on my 2 man team and two other dudes went against us. I made a goal by tossing the empty keg over the wall into the neighbors yard (yeah, really smart...), but I also tore my forearm up and got a nasty infection. Good times!

The only time I saw them was first in a backyard party and then in a decent venue a year or so later. The singing did bug me a bit, but the guitarists were pretty smoking. Like Iron Maiden with shredding guitarists (no offense to Maiden, of course).

Geoff got booted from the band for liking his booze a little too much... after your story, Im not surprised!!!
