I agree with the other responses, Brent is a monster singer, and I also started losing interest after "Fly from the Inside"......but definitely after "Us and Them".
I think Brent wanted to "change directions" a little bit musically, and Jasin Todd was battling some very serious demons. Jasin could not hold it together, and was basically ousted from the band before he could resign. He is married to Melody Van Zandt (daughter of Ronnie), so he will be ok, though.![]()
Hence the blessing to record Simple Man, and the rebel flag McNaught.
Jasin is a great guy, and I can't say enough good things about him, but honestly I don't think he wanted to tour as heavily as he was expected to. Shinedown seemed like a dream come true for him in the beginning, but I think it quickly exceeded his expectations, when demands of touring and being away from home so much, kicked in.
