Any MIDI specialists here?

Hey Everyone!

i have a problem with my Strymon Timeline. It's totally new, also my new GigRig G3s. The think is that i can't save any (different) BPMs to the presets, if i use my timeline via Midi from the G3s. I can adjust the BPM, but when i try to save it, it turns back to another BPM. There's no Midi-Clock running from the G3s. When i disconnect the Midi Adapters from the Timeline i can change and save the BPM, but whenever its connected, not. I also use the midi function for the eventide H9 & Strymon Big Sky in front of the Delay. Can anyone help me?

You might want to verify that no MIDI clock's being sent. If you're on Mac there's MIDI Monitor (free) and I'm sure a plethora of such monitors for Mac and PC.

I can't speak for the pedals but in the synth world, setting a device to recognise MIDI clock will typically override any local (preset) BPM you set. If there's an option buried somewhere that allows you to ignore MIDI clock, set that appropriately.

So, either:
1) Make sure it's not being sent
2) Make sure it's ignored
 
Kinda vague because I don't know those Units, but it can be done I'm sure. Does the G3 save presets? Usually the FX box saves the presets and the Controller just calls them up. You might need to tell the G3 to see the Strymon somehow. On my junk, all the Maping is done in my Lexicon (effects) Does the Strymon save presets?
 
I don’t know the GigRig gear, but on the timeline do you have these 2 settings set to what you’re trying to do?

Tap Mode: Adjusts how the last tapped tempo affects preset changes. Set to PRESET so the delay time will change to the saved value in the preset. Set to GLOBAL so the delay time will remain at the last tapped tempo regardless of what tempo is saved in the preset.

Midi Clock On/Off: When set to ON, TimeLine will respond to external MIDI clock from the MIDI input. This parameter is saved independently so that only presets with this parameter set to ON will respond to MIDI Clock.
 
Also in the OP you said you use it with the H9 and BigSky but does it work correctly with them or is it the same issue? That can help you narrow it down to the GigRig out the Timeline settings
